Overview
Fabricon Modular provided comprehensive planning, site development, and project management to deliver custom modular buildings for classroom and administrative use.
The Challenge
The Pioneer School was dealing with a crowding issue on campus, and their original request was for modular classroom pricing. They knew they needed additional space for classrooms, and after we explained the array of professional services we offer at Fabricon, they decided they needed help managing the entire project, not just filling an order for modular buildings.
Initially, the school’s Administrative Director visited our Fabricon Modular website and requested a quote for a classroom. From there, we had several phone conversations and email exchanges with the client, who was great to work with throughout the sales process. We decided that their school campus and organization would benefit from further guidance and information, if they were going to receive the deliverables they needed and stay within budget.
Building sizes and specifications played a key role as we continued to align with Pioneer and civil site planning. Timing was a key issue: They needed to get the project off the ground as quickly as possible, so we explained the importance of contracting a single company to handle everything because this can expedite all processes and orders. This is what the client ultimately chose to do.

With Fabricon Modular, The Pioneer School was afforded an experienced management team who focused on various aspects of the construction project, which provided the client greater control of the entire process. Fabricon Modular is very familiar with relevant processes and policies, as well as supremely experienced developing, managing, and completing multi-phase construction projects.
As their construction program manager, we took care of everything The Pioneer School needed for this expansion, serving as their modular building supplier and general contractor (GC) throughout the project. In these roles, we assisted in modular building proposals, contract, and plan review.
Our GC status allowed us to monitor the progress of the building plans through the building permit approval process and execution of the site plans. As Program Manager, we worked with the project’s civil engineer, monitoring the progress of the civil plans through the land development approval process within the Authority Having Jurisdiction departments that play an important role in ensuring building safety.
The Results
Although we faced several challenges around permitting, weather delays, and so forth, Fabricon was able to deliver on their promises and Pioneer opened a new school campus—with space for more expansion in the future.
We provided the client with beautiful buildings to add to the prestige of The Pioneer School; a full turnkey site development that included new water, sewer, and stormwater; and we made sure the campus was equipped with the utilities service, electrical service, grading, and landscaping the client needed to open the school to students.
Final Thoughts
As a multi-state licensed provider, our comprehensive construction consulting service as an owner’s representative is specifically designed to support construction projects in a collaborative and transparent way. While our experienced management team focused on all aspects of the construction project, the school board members at Pioneer were able to maintain greater control of the entire process.
